Big news presented yesterday at Integrate Remote 2020 by Matthew Farmer, Azure Logic Apps will, in a very near future, be running on the Azure Functions runtime. This comes with a lot of new features including:
- Full Logic Apps designer support in VS Code
- Local project support
- Run local (i.e. on my dev box)
- Stateless mode for low latency
- Deploy to Azure, or run in a Docker container
This means that Logic Apps finally started the journey to become more platform agnostic with less limits for developers to deliver true value. I think this is a real game changer and that we see a bright future ahead for Logic Apps!
Private preview is available now, it’s been very popular so far and places are limited. Public preview is coming later this year, stay tuned for more interesting updates regarding Logic Apps!
